SLi general use Q

I am in the process of building a fairly decent gaming rig, but I also use my computer for cad and photoshop quite a bit. My question is, does an sli setup suck for normal 2d stuff and programs like P.S. and cad? Or does it work just fine and normal, which would be sweet.

If it doesnt work as well as a single card setup, I may just get rid of one of the 7800gt's I just bought 😉

If you aren't running something SLI capable, it simply functions as if you have one card. If this is not the case, I've never noticed a difference in performance or stability.

Well, you can run each monitor of a dual monitor setup of a different card, thereby allowing each monitor a full cards resources.

I doubt you'd get any decrease in most CAD stuff, which is CPU / RAM based anyway, for rendering 3d you might see a performance increase but it doesn't look like you do that.

Shouldn't hurt you at all.
