Best thing to do is return the cards and get one 7800GTX. If you got the EVGA 6800's you can use the step up program!!!

Are you using AFR or SFR?

I had to reinstall BF2 due to a bad patch released by DICE. Anyway, the game is magically running better now I have no idea why. Now it hits 40FPS as a low, not an average.

Well not exactly caveat emptor, just buyer's remorse I guess. Just two weeks after I got this setup, the 7800GTX were easily obtainable. But that's always the case, something is indeed always around the corner. I am one of those people that must have bleeding edge, and yes I pay a premium for it but it satisfies something inside me. Maybe it's an ego thing. :p

EDIT: I tried AFR and SFR with the same results. But anyway, the performance is better now inexplicably. The cards are MSI, I am not aware of any step-up program they offer, so I'm stuck with these for now. But they are plenty powerful enough for the time being, better to wait for the REAL next-gen cards. Something that can do HDR at high-res comfortably.

That is good to know you got some of your performance back. Don't get me started on damn BF2, even though they pushed back the release date, it still seems like they released a game that was only 80% done. Terrible menu interface, 'improved' physhics that have a corpse go flying rag-doll from getting shot with a pistol.. Best bet is to enjoy the hardware you have even if they can't make software that can't take adavantage/waste the power of your hardware. Although I'm sure after several slap-patches they will have a decent playable game. (I still have logged about 24 hours of play on ranked servers :p)

I am sure you can get more immersion from your setup than my 9600XT/ athlon 2500+/ 1.5 GB RAM.

cheers. :)

edit: I forgot the tag to roll those eyes :p

I know how you feel. When I bought my 9800 Pro, the 6600GT came out a week later.
