Well not exactly caveat emptor, just buyer's remorse I guess. Just two weeks after I got this setup, the 7800GTX were easily obtainable. But that's always the case, something is indeed always around the corner. I am one of those people that must have bleeding edge, and yes I pay a premium for it but it satisfies something inside me. Maybe it's an ego thing.
EDIT: I tried AFR and SFR with the same results. But anyway, the performance is better now inexplicably. The cards are MSI, I am not aware of any step-up program they offer, so I'm stuck with these for now. But they are plenty powerful enough for the time being, better to wait for the REAL next-gen cards. Something that can do HDR at high-res comfortably.
