SLI boards

Well I really want to purchase a board that supports SLI and therefore I have more upgrading power within the future however I'm reading some of the specs on the asus nforce4 and this is the board people are recommending... but this is what confuses me about it and seems like a waste.

So its like I'm not running dual video cards besides the additional video ram? It would be running them like AGP cards correct?

You would be running dual video cards at their full potential (as long as the software supports SLI optimizations). PCIe x8 is far more than any current cards use (AGP 8x isn't really fully utilized). You can't really compare the multipliers between AGP and PCIe...
