i was looking a cyberpower pc and u can get Nvidia SLI or ATI cards. which would be better, with 2 gigs of RAM? with the same setup just different mobo and cards, of course, the Nvidia SLI is about $200 more, which for a $3k pc is a drop in the pot.
and
are there any new cards or anything coming out between now and around christmas, that i would want over either the SLI GTs or X850XT, for around the same price?

x850xt will handle pretty much anything you throw at it.

SLI 6800Gts will pull ahead of the x850xt at a high res like 1600x with AA/AF.

i know that a 512mb 6800 Ultra is coming or already out, would it be better than two 6800 GTs?

Doubling the ram on a card often does very little. I don't even know what games would utilize the 512mb effectively.

I give it approximately 0% chance of being better than two 6800gts :)

Depends how great of a need for speed you have?
