"Sleeping" Pixels

ive got a 19" princeton 1918 and there are two stuck or sleeping pixels. one's green and one's blue. i got the monitor from costco but its out of warranty. ive heard there are ways to fix this problem. ive tried massaging it with no luck. ive also heard about programs you can run to help wake them up, anyone have any suggestions/comments on the matter? a link or name of such a program would help a lot.

The best, and perhaps the only, method for getting rid of stuck pixels is to stop thinking about them :).

actually its not out of warranty, costco only recently changed their warranty on monitors/tv's... so if you have the reciept then you can still return it (as the change did not cover previously bought items)

would it be worth bringing down there to see if its covered?

why not just ignore it? its not a big deal. most of the time the warranty only covers 8 or more dead pixels, or when the pixels start getting stuck in relatively tight-knit groups.

ive been ignoring it for a while and id like to find a way to get rid of it. ill probably try the ways mr quiksilver's links suggested and if they dont work ill live with it. i would like to know if anyone has any recent experience with costcos warranties

Unless it's dead center, give it about 2 months. About a month ago, I was still weeping on the inside (and out...) due to 1 stuck pixel in the corner of my 2407. Now I don't even remember it's there anymore cause it was never really visible to begin with,

I would try software method by using the second link first, it only takes 5 minutes and its simple to use. If it doesn't work then try one of the other methods. If all else fails then I would drive down to see if its covered. If it isn't well either buy a new monitor or live with it

Besides i'd hate to waste gas even if it is close buy when all it could take is one of those simple fixes.

Costco's warranty is simple, bring it in and they give you your money back, then you can buy a replacement. The warranty changed a few months ago (90 days bring it in no questions asked, after that 2 years of warranty), but since you bought before the change if you have an issue you can just return it. Now if you can solve it without doing that, that would be best but its an option.
