SLEEP.PIF ?

Someone I don't recognize sent me an email about "configsafe" with sleep.pif as an attachment. I assume it to be a virus but didn't find anything but this. It says: "008 /GS.Inits.01/Perm.Inits SLEEP PIF After one minute, turns the screen black. Moving or clicking the mouse turns the screen on again. Slows the system by about half!!!"
Just curious as to what it is. I've never seen the .pif extension. Of course I won't open it.

Correct. You can also write other commands in to a PIF, similar to a BAT. That's why virus writers use them.

.pif, .vbs and .src = bad news

If you get an attachment with a file ending in any of those, you can almost bet your ass it's up to no good.
