I just had a SP episode where I woke up, but had no control over my body or breathing, for what seemed like forever, I was "dead". I managed to move a finger by concentrating on it, then an arm, then I snapped out of it. A SCARY incident, althought I think it only lasted 10-20 seconds.

Sleep paralysis is what many scientists believe is the explanation behind alien abductions. People wake up, can't move and are sometimes still parially dreaming, so they blame it on the aliens.

i hate that...i wake up but can't see or move or feel...so i try and throw a fit to get out of it and that seems to work...when i wake up i'm making weird noises like "ehhhhh". it's only happened to me once in college and when it did i was wonderng if my roommate was going to saved me or something

I think I've experienced the same thing on numerous occassions (though not in some time).

I swear that I can hear what's going on in the room. I try like mad to flail an arm or shake my head violently to wake myself up. I try to scream out "WAKE ME UP" and all that comes out (if anything) is a muffled groan. Had an afternoon in college where I kept dozing off to sleep and have another episode. It was awful, happened 6-7 times in a couple of hours. Ugh.

I've pondered "giving in" and not fighting against the paralysis with the weird preconceived notion that death would be waiting if I let myself slip. Spooky.
