Sleep mode with power?

is there any way to make my computer completely silent with the sleep mode?

i remember on my old hp computer (733mhz p3 baby 😀), every time i push the sleep mode button on my keyboard, it would basically shut the whole computer down and would wake up when i push a button on keyboard or move the mouse.

the comp that i have now awakes the same way but does not sleep silently, looks like only the monitor turns off.

any one have any idea?
 
See if your motherboard has an S3 jumper. If it does, enable it, and set your power management to suspend instead of sleep (or go for hibernation -- dead silent 🙂 )
