Sleep mode issue

When I wake my PC from sleep mode, it always takes an extra minute for the network adapter to reconnect to the internet and I was wondering if this is normal or is there a setting I can change so that I can access the web without waiting. Thanks.
 
Its not normal but I've seen it. Check to see if your NIC maker has newer drivers available.
