I recently removed a few parts of my PC whilst cleaning the dust out, something i've done plenty of other times. After this time, however, Windows refused to boot. It just hung at the first screen (The one that shows my motherboards name and such). After much experimenting, I came to the conclusion that my PC would not boot unless both of my slave drives were disconnected (One CD-RW drive and one Hard drive). The master hard drive and DVD drive work just fine.
What I don't get is that I did not remove the CD/DVD drives nor the hard drives. I didn't touch them. So I'm rather clueless as to what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I can supply more information on my specs if needed. One last thing of note: I ended up having to replace the IDE cable for my hard drive as it seperated from the connector and wire. This happened after i started having my problems, and now I have a brand new one..still with the same no boot problem.
For the record, I removed the CPU Fan/Heatsink, graphics card, sound card, network card and 56k modem, 3 ram sticks and 4 case fans. I cleaned the parts I removed with a can of compressed air and dry paper towel, and I cleaned just the bottom of the inside of the case with the dry towel as well. And for lasties, my Mobo is a ASUS A7V333.
