Which is what I was saying earlier... does that stop the Open Source community from writing drivers for most current hardware? Of course not.

I can see them writing drivers for all your hardware right now...

Good luck waiting on those.

Uh? Are you honestly denying that this will happen?

Plus you are referring to it like I am waiting for this... I already own a few macs..

I'm not denying it, I'm sure some people will waste their time on it.

I'm just saying don't expect them to be writing drivers for all your crap. Have you seen linux driver support? :p

lol.. yes actually I run UNIX-like operating systems as my main operating system and have yet to find a piece of hardware up to and including bleeding edge graphics cards and chipsets to not work.. have you used Linux in the last two years?

I read the slashdot article a few hours ago, I've been trying to find it since...only found one torrent and can't confirm if it's real. hmmm.

I found one source, it came in at about 950MB, claims to be tiger, but the nfo looks fake as hell (it claims to be an XiSO release). I don't think I'll waste my time.

Wow, i am impressed it's already out...but the question is, will we even be able to get it running?

Yeah... I'm downloading the 950meg one, but apparently it is fake. ThePirateBay already pulled it, and poster's on slashdot say that if you open the .rar file with a hex editor, it consists of nothing but GNAAGNAAGNAAGNAAGNAA over and over again.

Yeah, It's just GNAA GNAA GNAA, repeated infinitely. Whomever spoofed that release certainly did not do their homework. 950MB for OS X? That's rich.

I bet this runs like ass on x86, what the hell is apple thinking?

They're going to lose their niche market in an attempt to sell their souls to get more users.

You don't know what you're talking about. The dev kits run just as fast as a G5.

What happened to the days of a G5 outperforming a 3.6GHz P4 by 80-200%?

You can find "it" on the nova that's mini, but from what i've seen, it's fake.

Weirdly enough though, the .NFO is rather legit-looking.

That nfo is fake as can be. they've just taken an old nfo from XiSO (probably from their Tiger rel) and changed crap around. Look at the system requirements. That, among other things leads me to believe it's an ultra-fake.

Yeah, I guess so. After the RARs are extracted, open it in a hex editor. 'GNAA'. haha. btw, it's easy to fsck over slashdot because they and their readership are absolute retards.
