SLAP!! Mario Lemieux demands satisfaction!!!

He challenged Florida Panthers defenceman Brad Ference to a duel!! I've never seen him fight before...who here thinks he won?

He's gotta be one of the biggest pansies in the NHL.
Bar None.
Can't stand the guy, what a whiner...

How can you call a marquee player who drops his gloves a pansy? Have you ever seen Sundin, Gretzky, or Bure drop their gloves?

Dropping gloves and fighting is part of professional hockey.. so is loosing ones' front teeth. Gretzky missed out on some of the greatest parts.

Obviously a big fan of hockey.

The last time Lemieux fought was in 1987. I didn't see last night's fight, but losing 6-0 to Florida is enough to frustrate anyone. It speaks volumes that Lemieux's heart is big enough to care that much about one game. After all he has done in hockey and for hockey, it is a good sign.

he's such a whiner! he constantly complains like a baby about no-calls, as if he's been violated or something.

If you owned the Penguins I think you would be pretty pissed off if the referee didn't call certain things too. By your books I guess every GM/coach in the NHL is a pansy!

he was that way LONG before he ever had stake in the team. and I'm not talking about him compaining about others' no calls like a coach would do but those supposedly unfair against him. he's a pansy whiner for that.

I thought it was in '90-something against... oh what was his name??? It was in the Wales Conference Final I believe... dang.

Lemieux hadn't been ejected from a game for demanding satisfaction since April 24, 1996, when he couldn't get any satisfaction from Washington's Todd Krygier in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarter-finals.

Gretzky was a outstanding fighter - don't you remember his major "brawl" with Neal Broten in the 80's? 🙂

I commend Lemieux for taking after the guy, read on the story and its apparent why he had had enuf. With as many back problems as he has had, and then to have some dude cross check you in the back.

Lemieux is one of the greatest hockey players ever, the greatest according to some.

with that said, he is loving the new rules in the NHL concerning hooking and stick work on the body of the offensive player (or any player really). Just look at his explosion in pts this year compared to last. He is a finesse player. there is no arguing about that, and the new rules benefit a player like him.

I can't believe all of you guys, players like Jeremy Roenick, Gretzky, Darius Kaspartis, Chelios, they have what it takes.

I admit I haven't followed the sport in a while but Lemieux calls for more penalties than most superstars that I've seen.

Yes I admit he's a great player, he JUST WHINES.. therefore he IS NUTHIN BUT a SORRY CRY BABY!

There must be some fans of the penguins here in this forum
I don't know if Jagr still plays for them, that man is SCHWEET.

jagr plays for washington now.

these comments calling lemieux a whiner are rediculous. if any of you saw the olympic hockey, you would have seen the greatest active hockey player leading canada to the gold medal. and i didn't see him "whining" either. people complain about officiating all the time in every sport. in baseball you see the heated arguments with the ump, and in football there is even the "challenge" to the officiating. just because someone complains about a non-call it doesn't make them a whiner. it makes them competetive.

I would hardly call what happened last night a fight. Both teams jumped in and stopped it before anything really developed.

I will never forgot the playoffs two years ago when Devils forward John Madden said "Hey ace" while tapping the ice with his stick. Mario fed him the pass. Lemieux went bonkers and was crosschecking Madden all over the ice. What a riot

I have seen Sundin drop his gloves... When he played here in Sweden... he's a pretty big guy so most people are probably happy he doesn't fight that much...

Mario scored on his first shift in the NHL. Won 2 Cups. Battled cancer and won and then came back a played at a high level.

And everyone complains, you just don't notice it. If the NHL said they were going to clean up the crap and they reverted back to not making calls, wouldn't you be upset?

That and he?s the captain so he needs to set an example for his team. Besides, we have guys like Domi and Belak to do all the enforcing in the team.

Whatever man, I have seen Roenick get roughed up very badly in the same game with Lemieux whining like a baby, granted it was a few years ago, when Roenick played for the hawks,..,.

And Sundin is very good also, does he still play for Quebec? Is Quebec still even around?

Quebec hasn't been around since 1995. They're now the Colorado Avalanche, & have won 2 Stanley Cups since then.
