Slackware - USB mouse not being detected on startup?

I just installed Slackware 14.2, using mostly default options; using a basic Microsoft USB mouse (L-click, R-click, and clickable scroll-wheel).

When I boot into the GUI (Xfce), the USB keyboard is recognized just fine, but the mouse isn't.

Unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in makes the system recognize it. Does anyone know how I can make it so that it detects the mouse without having to do this?

Oh Slackware, been my distro since 7x, did you switch over to 15?

15 is nice, and as far as mice are concerned, mouse problems are pretty rare, could be a hardware issue, bad mouse, bad usb ports, etc...

I’ve never had a mouse problem since starting out at Slack 7x
