I don't know if it's part of the story (I hope not or I skipped some quests) but I totally found an Elder Scroll. I salivated like a fanboy when I picked it up.
Part of the main storyline if you found it in a snowy area of the map.
Ffffffffff. Is the game going to make me skip large steps of the story quests now? Fallout 3 would do that and it makes me regret exploring, which isn't a feeling I think I should have in a game like this.
That would be an awkward conversation...
"Retrieve the Elder Scroll!"
This one? *presents scroll*
"...why do you have an Elder Scroll on your person...?"
i'm pretty early in the game. i was traversing moutains on horseback...makes mountain climbing easy... and came atop the dragonborn place. I don't think i was suppose to beable to go the back way like that. anyway, i looked down and see a dragon that just sits as if awaiting a scripted event to trigger. he only activated if i got off the horse.
kinda weird. do dragons not attack if horseback?
also kind weird how you can climb up and down steep mountains via horseback, so long as you don't fall too far, its easy to shimmy down a cliff.
my only real issue at this point is i occasionally switch to desktop. i can only return to game if i do Alt/tab/delete which puts me directly in game. very annoying. any fixes for this?
Dragons and greybeards and shouts, that sort of thing?
That dragon is part of the same quest line as the elder scroll.
so what happens if i kill it early? or can i? i dunno what the elder scroll quest line is, but again i'm very early in the game.
Beat it today. Only have the dark brotherhood to finish. Was good. The last couple of missions were drawn out and made you listen to dialog which prolonged it even more.
Also, I just rode my first horse. They should have had an achievement for stealing one so that I tried riding one earlier.
How many hours? I am about 44 now, level 30. I already want to play again but as a warrior, I hate how my Mage gets screwed by any semi competent enemy, sometimes in just one hit, but armor is around 85 because I keep magic regen robes on. No idea now why I brought smithing to 100 since I barely make use of armor!
My save is at 112 hours now and at 12mb, and I'm finally starting to lag. I hope the patch hits tomorrow...
dropped this morning per Kotaku and Joystiq.
Where do you look up hours played? Can't seem to find it.

Heads up!
This will probably be considered an extreme spoiler since it's a major component of the main storyline. i would remove or tag that part of your post.
