Skyrim PC reqs/recom?

All the screens and video released so far have been from the 360. Bethesda has said that the PC version would have better graphics than the consoles. Were they lying? Guess we find out in a month.

The things that are almost certain to be available :

higher resolution textures, more AA/AF, and longer view distances. Beyond that, we shouldn't expect much (such as more detailed models, buildings, etc). PC gamers would burn Bethesda to the ground should they fail to include those options, which were already in previous releases.

Todd Howard was on record earlier in the year stating that Bethesda was aiming at a uniform experience across all platforms. So while PC will have higher resolutions and more AA, those would be the only advantages.

I don't think Oblivion had any higher settings on pc than console, either.

"uniform experience across all platforms"

Is just marketing speak. The worst thing a company can do is emphasize one version of their game over the other. I fully expect BF3 to fail on consoles because of this (and well, because BF on console has always sucked).

In reality, unless the game is super nerfed, there are usually advantages to be had with the PC versions with good hardware. Even Deus Ex : HR, which many complain about the graphics on, looks dramatically better on a high-end PC than consoles, although it does appear that in many places they just used low-res textures for the lulz (in reality, laziness or limitation of media capacity).

Oblivion had texture packs 🙂 I'd expect to see the same for Skyrim if the stock textures are 2006.

They've already stated that Skyrim will use DX11 features to help improves performance. Those certainly aren't available on consoles. It's pointless to make wild speculations.

Skyrim wont be up to much graphics wise. Any gaming pc from the last years will run it with ease.

We're not going to see The Witcher 2 like graphics in these console games until the new consoles are out. And that's a few years away yet
