Skyrim GAMEPLAY mods for more of a challenge?

Anyways, going back to the difficulty settings. You do realize that you as a player get things like blacksmithing and enchanting, yet the AI does not. Giving them a boost is basically like giving them the ability to improve their weapons.

Blacksmithing is also expensive so that is all balanced out in Requiem.

Also some mods I have yet to try but am going to install when I get around to wanting to try to actually getting a good fully working installation going are loot and degradation, hunterborn, and Bard College, Forsworn, Vigilents, Companions, and Thieves guild faction mods all working with any other minor roleplaying and gameplay mods.

So have you moved from SKYRE to Requiem?
No, from SkyRe to SkyRe+PerMa+misc.. Weapon damage scales up with skill, on both sides. Requiem does it entirely differently. Since pure mages keep getting made, they remain less powerful, but any guy wielding a big hammer, axe, or a crossbow, can give take me down quickly, if not also thwarted quickly. ASIS helps, too, when it works (PerMa bugs are getting worked out, and ASIS sometimes fails), along with the various enemy enhancement mods.

I like Frostfall because it adds a persistent need/alters your planning when you go out. In a way, it can really affect how you fight, because you allocate significant space for wood/soups/materials/tents/warm armor sets, etc.

Combat needs a very real overhaul, tbh, though I haven't tried any of the mods that claim to have done that.

Then 2 dozen patches D:. That's what drove me to iNeed. Both RND and Imp's need patches, which can be a pain (not just loading and ordering them, but getting the right ones for the right versions, including possibly downgrading other mos so it will work)
There isn't that much patching needed for Imps, mostly for new food types, nothing compared to the number for Requirm.

Honestly though, New Vegas version of Imps was the best so far (it allowed you to have a constant view of your stats) and it's not that difficult keeping up with hunger needs (hmmm not enough protein... try this YUMMY grilled radroach 😛)

Yeah, Frostfall seems to be what I'm looking for.

I'm using it, Wet and Cold, and Real Needs and Diseases now, and I haven't really started playing yet, but this seems to fit the bill.

I like the idea of having to plan excursions and adventures. One of my biggest gripes about vanilla Skyrim (and TES in general) is I could basically run, nonstop, night and day, from one end of the map to the other. With a few healing potions and just a little luck, you'd never have to stop. I never ate any food, and only rested to level up. I ended up house ruling sleeping at inns just to make it more immersive. Diseases? What are those? Most never affected me in any noticeable way. And nighttime was basically just a slightly darker daytime. No reason to stop, just keep running! 🙄

Now, actually having to take weather, food, and supplies into account, plus night and day, makes adventures really seem like feats.

Wet and Cold
Not challenge related at all, but do have have Holidays? It's a nice little addition. One of those immersion things that you notice being gone after a re-install more than being there when in use.

Requiem makes nighttime into a very potentially dangerous time to be frolicking about without any good potions or equipment nevermind even worse if you do not have any wise consideration or lack of caution.

I'll give it a shot, thanks!

Immersion mods are by far my favorite, along with subtle gameplay tweaks.

I have a question - Do I need to load Nexus Mod Manger before I load the game, every time? Or is NMM only necessary to install the mods one time? I'm running SKSE to run Skyrim.

You launch the game FROM the mod manager, and it works if you have the Script Extender installed.

The problem with mods is, that after you uninstall game for whatever reason, decide to play again, game is buggy because mods are newer than old saved games you had.
That warning you get about incompatible saves with mods? Yah that is actually true.

I tried to play last month after a year off of it, and everything was bugged in game when i tried to reinstall mods from saved games. Water, ground, even my sword was stuck pointing up through head. lol

I have no idea how to fix it beside starting over..and don't really want to do that.

I understand I can do that, but I can also just launch SKSE from its desktop icon. If I launch SKSE from the desktop icon, is that any different from launching SKSE from withing NMM?

If you dont run the Nexus Mods Manager, your nexus-downloaded mods dont work properly sometimes.

But the game itself will run.
