Skype downtime today

Unfortunately, today, many [supernodes] were taken offline by a problem affecting some versions of Skype.

This situation gives reason to question their supernode (client to client) method of communication.

I was just today doing a little reading on wire tapping voip and read how skype's peer to peer would be extremely difficult to tap. But, because of today, it seems that the answer in a time of crisis, would be to just kill it forcing those you want to "tap" into .. into something more tap-able??

It has happened else where.
