it never does u have to manually update

Check it on free software downloading sites like cnet, download.com etc.

Mine must of auto updated on Win8 ,however I don't use it ,its memory usage is way to high ie anything from 74 to 80mb,back to Trillian for me at least thats only 3 to 8mb or so.
