He may have an issue with his GPU's at this point. They are scoring over 1800 points lower. Sounds like a heat issue.

OK guys, I decided I'll bench my 5960x rig at 4.4Ghz with a single GTX980TI (EVGA SC under water with EK block) at the same vcore and mem settings 1252/1878. This will give some perspective as to video performance. I apologize for running the 5960x at 4.4Ghz but I refuse to run at 4.6 knowing it is not truly stable with test benches such as Asus Realbench etc. I have put his rig trhough a ton of benchies at 4.4Ghz without fail. Call it the luck of the silicon draw.

I don't mean to thread "crap" but thought it might be fun to post the results with a single GTX980TI OC'd exactly the same and an 8c/16t cpu at a close OC (4.4 vs 4.6).

None of this test is really cpu heavy/bottleneck(except firestrike, but thats not game) and maybe and only maybe hitman.

you should try games like fallout4,watchdogs,crysis3,WOT,war thunder,rome2 total war, far cry4, arma3.
And witcher3 in novigrad.

Test scenes are really important too.

Thanks for sharing your results. Its fun and I like seeing how your rig does. That physics score is, um, RIDICULOUS. Regarding the wife, I agree, few things in this life are more hardcore than a pissed off wife. For some reason they don't forget stuff very easily either.

I thought his numbers looked about right. Remember that the 5930K has 2 more cores, and that 5960x has 4 more cores. Their physics scores will be much higher. The more interesting part will be whether it will have much of an affect on gaming.

I'm running a 3930K. Its about half a decade old.

Ah, I was internally thinking of my numbers. But guskline hits 20k on physics, I hit 17K on my i7 5820K, and you are hitting 15.7k. The i7 6700k hits almost 14k. That seems to be in line with what you might expect. We all know that there hasn't been a lot of progress over the last 4-5 years.

I agree. The overall score is affected by the physics score - more cores ramps up the physics score which ramps up the physics score.

I'd get smoked in physics by one of those 18C Xeons

The graphics score component is important.
