Skylake LGA will be a 2 chip design. So the PCH will not be integrated in the desktop products atleast. Perhaps some mobile versions will.

The CPU will have PCIe 4.0, DDR4 and AVX3.2 tho.

If true, I'm glad to see this. Combining the CPU and chipset reduces configuration flexibility and provides no benefits where mobility is not a major concern.

easier/more money?

no big Intel chip on the MB means it's harder to get money from it (license for the socket or something?), and if the CPU (with a PCH) price was higher people would be unhappy ($50 more)

why 2 chips?

The PCH is mostly I/O which means that it's doesn't benefit that much from shrinks so using a separate chip allows Intel to use a older process node.
