I just won an auction from Skyauction.com for a "price per night" at the Azzurro Cabarete all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. I looked up room rates and it typically goes for $380/night. We got it for $162.

What are the chances of them actually booking this?

i'm sure you'll get it, but they'll add all kinds of fees and surcharges to it which will allow them to even it out more.

i'm afraid of this as well, but i've heard other people having decent results with this site.... to make sure and read all of the fine print.

We actually bid on a "price per night" for this resort and won it at $34 per person per night. Added to that were "taxes and fees" that were an additional $35 per person per night and a one-time $15 processing fee.

So I hope we are done with "weird fees"

Will you want the optional "bedding package"? That includes freshly laundered sheets, pillowcases, and a blanket. If you've brought your own, of course you won't need that.
We also offer carpeted rooms at an additional fee, or would you like to stay with the standard "beach-style" flooring?
Of course, your room and all your meals, beverages, and recreational activities are included in your rate, but you may wish to enhance your experience by choosing to supplement your package with deluxe features such as locking room doors, heating/air conditioning, and television.

i normally don't have any issues with these auction style hotel websites

i've never used skyauction but i don't see why they would rip you off

I don't think they've been accused of ripping anyone off, but the kicker to any of their auctions is that they don't have to honor the deal. They can simply come back with "Room was not available" for the given timeframe. It's a bit shady, but it's spelled out in the terms and conditions
