By the trailers it looked to me like 95% of the movie was CGI. I don't know if I could handle that or not. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm just about CGI'd out. Otherwise it looks interesting. I'll have to see what the reviews and some of my friends say first.
Everything is CGI. The only thing real in the movie are the actors. The whole movie was shot against bluescreen.
And yes, the movie looks freaking awesome.
Well in that case bleh! I'm really tired of CGI everything in action movies. What's the point anymore if all the actors have to do is act in front of a screen. That's not movie making, that's like making a video game. Kind of reminds me of all those lame FMV games of the mid 90's.
CGI is just a tool to make movies easier. Watch this movie and you will realize why they chose to do it all in CGI.
It's actually Jude Law, but you knew who you were talking about.Originally posted by: Mo0o
Angelina Jolie's character is a good guy, shes the partner of ewan mcgregor.
What a load of crap. You see so much CGI in movies because we finally have the technology to incorporate it with a reasonable level of realism, in situations that were previously impossible using live actors. You bring up the Hulk as an example of overused CGI. How the hell were they supposed to make a Hulk movie without massive amounts of CGI? Maybe they should have brought back Lou Ferrigno like the 80's TV show .Originally posted by: rudder
CGI is ruining movies. Just go watch Aliens. If they made that movie today I bet it would not nearly have the impact that it had when it first came out. To many movie makers rely on CGI. The Hulk comes to mind. They might as well made that movie completely on the PC.

I disagree. I loved the CGI in Hulk and thought it was perfectly integrated into the scenes - as perfect as current technology will allow, anyway. Sure it looked ridiculous in the sense that you have a huge green monster jumping miles at a time, but that's how the storyline goes. If you go into the movie expecting any else, you only have yourself to blame. Hulk bombed at the box office, not because of the CGI, but because of the questionable pacing/dialogue/cinematography. The CGI was one of the few things that received praise.Originally posted by: rudder

They should have made the movie exclusivley cgi. It looked ridiculous. Maybe thats why it bombed at the box office. As I mentioned Aliens, I knew the creatures were just basically puppets, but their presence did not distract from the movie. Now I see a cgi created monster in a movie and it just seems to distract from the movie. Some movies ,like lord of the rings, can get a way with that because of the rich story, most other movies can't.
