Skoorbie's Shelf!

It seems someone doesn't like me, really. I got the 403Forbidden message much earlier. I am using a different computer now, so I finally got to see the shelf!

Wow! He built that from scratch? All I know how to do is assemble the bookshelves, as I did here. But I couldn't build from scratch. Kudos to Skoorb. I always wanted to know what sort of talent Skoorb had besides posting non-stop. LOL!

Congratulations, Skoorb.

P.S.: Mrs. Skoorb, save us the trouble and show us where those pics are. I too have always wondered what Skoorb and you look like.

You also must have gotten a sense of satisfaction.
Nice job, Mr. & Mrs. Skoorb!

If the RossMeister didnt ask, I would have.

Looks good for a Canadian, but $28? That seems kinda steep. OD routinely runs $15 off of $50 bookcases, so you could probably have had a 5 shelfer delivered for $35 or so.

Well for that money you would have gotten a nice crappy pressed board bookshelf that would collapse under the weight of a pocketful of Staples coupons.

Skoorb went the correct route and used solid wood, from the looks of the buttons, it was screwed together and he got to stain it to match his taste. He also got the satisfaction of doing a good job himself in addition to the accolades he has gotten here.

And to make it all worthwhile, he gets to look like a manly man to Mrs. Skoorb and he gets bonus points for being handy around the house. He also gets more points that can be stacked (much like coupons :p) from Mrs. Skoorb getting that tingly feeling women get when they see their spouse working up a sweat and putting forth the effort to make to womans nesting area more pleasant.

Skoorb had a giant win-win here.

For the (as yet) unmarried guys tuning in...NEVER FORGET THIS ADVICE!

And the coupon analogy is PERFECT for an unrepentant Ferengi like PAB! :p

Skoorb deserves a scratch behind the ears, or somewhere else, for his effort. MrsSkoorb deserves a belly rub for her effort, too.

That's pretty good. I remember my dad working with wood. He made my old computer desk, bed frame, and shelving units for the closets and pantry.

That's a pretty good job you did there. I like the stain finish as well, I spend one good week re-sanding and then staining the main door, stair-case handles, etc.. I like painting that stuff on wood...looks shiny..

I like shiny things...ohh..its SHINY!

nice work you two! :) Too bad the only shelves I'll be building in the near future will be of the cinder-block-and-plank variety
