I recently obtained a "Skived" heatsink from Showa Aluminum....its a curved extruded alluminum heatsink with a panaflow fan.
The website mentioned something about a well designed heatsink should hold up even if the fan dies.
Well somehow mine was unpluged and I ran my celeron 533a @ 824 MHz and 1.8 volts for 36 hours without even a hickup.
I wonder, if this heatsink can cool my overclocked and stepped up voltaged cpu for a day and half without a fan, could I try to overclock with even more voltage to acheive higher speeds? skived heatsink

You should be able to increase speed... but hwat was your operating temp during the 36 hours of testing? Did you load the cpu during all 36 hours?
