If you just need a basic cordless drill for occasional use, Home Depot has Skil 12V for $10. Online and in-store. Internet/Catalog #100495925, Store In-Stock SKU #381428. Go to Home Depot - type in 381428.

Variable Speed Switch
Removable Bit Index Pod
Forward/Reverse Indicator
3'8" Keyless Chuck
16 Clutch Settings
Battery
Charger

If you need a little more they have Ryobi 18V 1/2" drill plus cordless circular saw for $39(was $59) Store In-Stock SKU # 381445. edit: Well, Tallahassee store has it for that price. Since esquared's didn't, I guess it is YMMV.

½" heavy duty keyless chuck for quick, easy bit changes
2-speed range gear box for high torque applications
24 position clutch controls torque output
Battery
Mag-tray? holds screws, small bits and hardware on foot of drill for easy access
1-hr charger

The item with sku#381445 is unfortunately, OOS for online. It's price was 29.99 which is a hot deal for both tools with a battery and 1 hr charger. The HomeDepot in my area has this for 59.99 which isn't a bad deal but it's not 39.99 or even 29.00. I wonder if the B&M would drop the price a little knowing the online HD was selling it this cheap. Might be worth a try. Thanks.

That's why I only gave the in-store sku for it and said in-store only in the title. :)

Did you ask them to check the price in-store? My store had yellow clearance shelf price stickers. Maybe Home Depot clearances by store rather than nationally. I don't know. Does anyone? Edited the OP to indicate YMMV on this.

I can confirm the sale on the Skill 12V drill. Found it on "yellow tag" clearance table in the main isle of the store last week. Funny thing is I had just bought a new battery for my Crapsman for $20. I'll be returning that battery as the Skill drill is better period.

$400! I'm a n00b, so I think an impact driver is overkill. The light is not too exciting, so that leaves the reciprocating saw as the only desirable item for me.

I have a 12V Skil drill, and it's worth it for $10. I got it for $13 or $15 on BF, and it's handled all the little jobs around the apartment.

NUTZ !!!!!!
Even though they show the Ryobi on-line with a battery in it, the printed ad states
"Battery and charger sold separately"

Dang, I could use some 18v batteries for my Ryobi stuff, and an extra drill and saw would be ok also, but what I really want is cheap batteries, I only have 4 working ones left.

I checked again at the local HD near my work and indeed the priced had dropped to 39.00. The sign above the combos still said 59.99. I didn't exactly need it but it will make a nice gift for a family member.

Extra batteries for this are $24.97 for one and $39.99 for 2. Sooooo much cheaper than DeWalt.
