Skiing in Europe

Hey everyone. I'm in London for the year and I want to do some skiing in Europe. The Alps look absolutly stunning, but they seem so hard to get to. It's easily an 8 hour train ride from London, and you have to change trains twice. The thing is, if I wanted to go for longer I could do the eurostar ski train deal. But we just want to go for a weekend. Flying to Geneva and taking a bus doesn't seem that easy either. So is there an easy way to access the Alps that I don't know of? Or is there any skiing that is near a major city, or is in Northern France that would be more accessible by train??

Thanks

I heard on the radio this morning that the snow in Europe has been so light this year that they've had to cancel a number of ski competitions. They were looking to relocate some of them to Colorado.

Not that this answers your question. 😛

It's time for another Good Idea|Bad Idea

Good Idea: Skiing in Europe

Bad Idea: Waterskiing to Europe.

Instead of downhill consider cross country skiing in Scandanavia
