what a bunch of absolute f*cking garbage. i hate it when refs take control of the game. they totally killed the flow and took the sixers out of the game. ehh.... at least the lakers lost

in addition to the refs getting on their knees and blowing the game, iverson decided he would throw the ball away three times in a row. he also saw fit to not bother taking a shot in the last 15 second possession. the sixers were pretty good at not taking shots towards the end of the 4th.

the only players i want to see returning next season are snow & thomas. iverson will be back though, but i would rather have a more consistent star player. coleman is too old, van horn is a weak piece of garbage, mckie has been going downhill forever, and the rest of the scrubs aren't even worth mentioning.

how did the pistons slip through another round in the playoffs? and more importantly, does anyone care?!

They didn't 'SLIP' through.

The Pistons are a TEAM. They don't really have a superstar player. They
all play 'together' and win as a team. Obviously its always better to have
balance then to have one guy doing it all.

Iverson aka The Answer? HAHA NOT.

they did slip through. let's look at the games they won, shall we?

Game 1: Pistons take advantage of home court and whup the sixers. I'll give you that.

Game 2: Pistons 104, Sixers 97 - Iverson misses two free throws that could seal the game, and some 84 pound hunched-back stick figure queer of a rookie hits a shot that sends it to overtime, where he hits the same garbage shot 2 more times and a 3. Overtime at home = slipping through.

Game 3 and 4 - Sixers take advantage of home court and totally dominate Pistons

Game 5: Pistons barely eek out a win over the sixers with one of the ugliest looking layups i've ever seen.

Game 6: See my thoughts above.

IMO the better team didn't win, but oh well, that's sports for ya. Especially philly sports.

slipping through? Tayshaun Prince hit clutch shots. the fact that he's an "84 pound hunched-back stick figure queer of a rookie", make Philly's defense all the more suspect. Iverson chokes in the clutch.

uhm.....it was going in. DC goaltends it by hitting it out from the bottom. would have went in anyways.

yeah, blame the refs. not the fact that Van Horn shot 1-4 for 2pts and that Philly's bench scored a 14 pts to Detroit's 33.

IMO the better team didn't win, but oh well, that's sports for ya. Especially philly sports.

Cry me a freaking river. The Piston's bench was too much for Philly. Chauncey came back and hit big time shots. Keith Van Horn put his tail between his legs and decided to not show up.

You don't slip through the cracks in the best of 7 series. Philly choked. Like Detroit showed in the first round, one superstar isn't going to beat us. Detroit has too much depth. No single superstar, but plenty of guys who can have big games on any given night.

The better team did win, sorry.

Sounds like your a typical "brotherly-love" philly pfan.

Pistons have made a living of eeking out big games this year. Too bad they lost the first one to NJ.

GO PISTONS!

The way the pistons played yesterday, I see the nets taking this series in game 4 easily. Ben wallace had a dominating 22 rebounds but a scrub ass 6 pts. He needs to have a good offensive game if the the pistons plan on avoiding a sweep and actually winning the series.:)

Ben Wallace is not the offensive spark, but Jon Barry is. :)

pistons nets will go 6 or 7 games too, hopefully pistons will win but if not I wouldnt be surprised because Wallace and Billups are both not 100% Both teams in the west should dismantle the eastern winner. Detroit would have a better shot at the spurs than the mavs cus all the mavs have to do is get hot and I dont think detroit can score enough points. Oh well we'll see how they do tonight and the rest of the series first before we start guessing how they will do in the finals.

Speaking as a pretty long time sixers fan, that was a pretty painful series to watch.
The sixers were definitely not deep enough in the scoring department.
I kept on waiting for Keith Van Horn to pull through and prove everyone wrong, but it got more and more disappointing as time went by.
Were Keith Van Horn playing better, I think the sixers would have put up a much better fight.
Iverson has always been somewhat streaky in his scoring and it showed again in this series. I only wish the rest of the team could pick up the slack for him when he's not doing well. I think with a better supporting cast to bolster Iverson when he's not in sync, the sixers stand a better chance of going farther.
This Tayshaun Prince guy was also painful to watch. He had the long arms and the speed to outmaneuver alot of the sixers defenders and that made him so dangerous. Now that NJ is the opponent, they are probably going to get less production out of Tayshaun Prince since a goon by the name of Kenyon Martin is gonna be pounding him on each posession.

I shouldnt fault the sixers though. Through it all, they made things very competitive and no loss was due to a lack of effort. With the way Detroit was struggling to fend off the sixers at the Palace, I thought Philly had a legitimate chance at winning the series in the beginning. But a combination of factors came together to mess that up in the end.
It was a great series with a lot of close calls and shots, but the sixers ultimately lost.
