Six Sigma

i'm writing report on Six Sigma implementation in different companies. i wanted to see if your company has implemented six sigma methodologies and if so is there any noticable improvements in production and savings to the company. If you have information on how your company has implemented six sigma please feel free to elaborate as to how it was accomplished.

thanks!

i remember Ford Motor Company was doing this when i was interning there. it has to do with quality control, right? 99.9% success rate vs. 99.99999%. or something like that....maybe i'm way off 😛

And I am probably the only one who saw this and said...."Hmmm....6 sigma....that is an awfully conservative setting for image filtering...."

Six Sigma? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....nothing but a POS waste of productivity and just another fine example of complete useless crap.

I know a guy in quality control who might want to help you with that. He's the manager of quality assurance for Melbourne, FL operations in Rockwell Collins, "a lean manufacturing facility." He knows about ISO 900x, six sigma, DFMEA/PFMEA, CQE/CQA, etc. etc.

Oh, and he's my father. I'll hook you up with his email address via PM as long as you promise to not tell him where you got it. hehe

Six Sigma is a joke. Specially for the Defense Industry. Six Sigma call for free flow of information which conflicts directly with the "need to know".

As an engineer i hate all the donkey raping sh!t fvckers who decided to shovel six sigmas bull$hit overhead onto us. they should all be fileted and whipped.

six sigma wastes my time, i spend more time following the fvcking process then i do actually getting my job done.

ameesh u know where i can get some information on your work place six sigma strategies? i'm guessing u work at amazon. i'd love to hear your experience with six sigma. btw i live in seattle going to uw working on this 15 page report for opmgt. so if you got like paper work that you can show me that wont get you in trouble... heh ;-)

I hate you people. Six sigma is BS. No, there's no improvement, just a bunch of lousy meetings where we can all get together and talk about efficiency and integrity.

this was at microsoft in my old group, amazon is completely opposite, everyone is a cowboy.

GE followed 6sigma pretty closely and it did seem to make some improvements, atleast in the meetings we had with the black belts it seemed like the processes allowed the products quality to improve. I thought about getting my green belt, but decided not too.

nothing more to say.
