six 120mm fans + one 200mm fan + DVD-ROM all on same molex wire?

i'm hooking up an Antec CP-1000 PSU to an Antec Twelve Hundred case that has six 120mm fans and a big 200mm fan on top. the PSU is semi modular so i'm trying to avoid adding extra wires for airflow reasons, but is it a bad idea to stack the fan wires together and connect them to the same molex wire that is connected to the DVD-ROM?

in other words:

1 molex wire with 3 molex connectors; two 120mm fans + one 200mm fan on one molex connector, DVD-ROM on second molex connector, four 120mm fans on third molex connector

bad idea?

I believe the molex connector is rated for 6 amps per pin.

DVD burners are rated around 2A,
A regular 120mm fan is less than .5 amp. Yate Loon D12SM-12 is labeled as 0.3 amps, for example, so 6 is less than 3 amps.
Dunno what a 200mm fan pulls in terms of current, but it looks like there should be room for what you want.

Also, the molex rating is per PIN, the connection is the weak point, and I'm pretty sure the wire itself can handle more than the pins can, so you should have plenty of margin.

Isn't your DVD going to be using SATA power? Not Molex? Or is it just that old?

well the permanent (non-modular) SATA power wire is going to my hard drives and cannot reach the DVD-ROM (big case), so i'm using a SATA->molex converter that goes from the DVD-ROM to the permanent molex wire. again, i could add additional SATA and/or molex wires but i'm trying to use only the permanent wires for better airflow.

currently the molex wire (3 connectors) is powering all 7 case fans and the DVD-ROM. the SATA wire is powering only 2 hard drives. no problems so far after running for about 24 hours, no boot-up problems, etc. so i think it's fine.
