...and the teacher starts talking about processors.

So first off he goes, one chip manufacturer is Intel, they make the Pentium IV and the Celeron.

So far so good.

Next, the Celeron is less reliable because it costs less and isn't as fast.

This is where the lecture goes downhill...

Next there's the lower end CPU makers that no one reall buys, AMD and Cyrix. Both companies produce almost the same type of chip. They don't and won't be able to compete with Intel's Pentium IV.

Now I'm getting irked here. I hate when people bash things they don't know. I mean for the systems I sell I use whichever suits the person that's buying it.

He's stating that nothing will ever be as fast as a Pentium IV.

OMG, I so want to yell at him, but it's not worth it. 🙁

Update:

Teacher - Years ago 800MHz was industry standard, that was fast but now the Intel Pentium IV is past the 2.0GHz range making it untouchable.

WTF?! Since when was Intel or anyone for that matter pimping 800MHz systems "years ago". 🙁

Oh gosh, another update...

He just said, you kids are lucky, this year cd read and write drives came out which makes the floppy useless.

I'm thinking, what if you want the floppy for boot discs and stuff. Damn, I feel bad for the stupid people that don't know better. 🙁
 
OMG!

He just said you can use a cd-rom that came with your computer to write and erase data from.

I can just picture stupid people going home and trying it without a burner and then going, "I can't get it to work" the next day class is. 🙁

hey im in "Intro to Mac OS" right now. She is a MaC NuT..... we do nothing.... rename folders, lock folders, put folders away, and empty the recycle bin........ oh and we create folders.... same thing the past 6 weeks of class....theres only one good thing that comes of this, more time on AT.... 🙂
 
He just mentioned dvd drives. He's like "now you can finally watch movies at home on your computer".

What about VCD, divX, and other formats? The future is DVD he just said. 😀

Wow, I didn't know dvd-rw's were only 200 dollars he said at Compusa. Damn, time to go to hot deals and post! 😀
 
Hahah, can't ask questions. He's on "you really need 120GB's of storage space". I'm like WTF, why so much disc space? To quote "30GB's is not enough for anyone, not even the average user".

Damn, I guess my 70GB is out of date already. 🙁
 
Ask him what Intel stands for.

Ask him who owns Cyrix and what their current chip is.

Ask him how much memory bandwidth his beloved P4 has.

Ask him to try using an Athlon XP and see how much it smokes a P4 in school type stuff.

Ask him to get off his mind off its ass and stop taking brides from Intel.
 
its sad, idiots like that teaching in college(he needs to update himself more, not just base his teaching on BS from idiots). :| we need qualify teacher more than ever. Do say his teaching in KCC or HCC cause if his teaching in U of Manoa I'll report his ass to the Computer Department 😛.

We do not need any more misinformed people in the tech field.

There are already too many as it is.

If your teacher keeps teaching the student things which are not true, complain to whoever needs to be told and either get him reeducated or relocated.
