What do you guys think of this? I checked snopes - it's legit. But, is it really worth it? Rice is the cheapest food on earth. For every question you get right, it's 10 grains of rice. At 10 questions correct per minute, that's about 5 hours to donate 1 pound of rice (about 18 cents worth.)

It's not a bad way for students in a school to learn vocabulary - they learn, and it supports a good cause. But, should someone really look at this as a cheritable activity.

And my bigger question (and the reason I chose this site to ask this): just how much money do you make from banner ads? Is the person running the site (3 banner ads for each question) making a lot of money from this??

edit: Nevermind about my bigger question - I read all the pages at the site and see that they don't make money from the site.

it's fine for a game but pretty retarded as a charitable endeavor.
just donate $5 dollars and actually be charitable.

do you make money just by displaying the ads? don't users have to click them? or does the site have corporate ad sponsors?

A number of charitable endeavors have a major point of raising awareness for the cause as well as making money and getting donations directly. I think this is a great way of doing it.

I only played for 10 minutes / 430 grains, but peaked at 48 before missing a couple and bouncing between 46-47.

Me S-M-R-T! :)

It was on the CBS evening news last week. Because of the spot they got something like $200k in donations.

Hmm, it would only take me a couple minutes to write a web spider to just choose random links each time...

Just write a script to automatically select the first choice, with a slight delay (it presents an error if you click too fast).
