Been a while, so hopefully my memory serves me correctly. I believe the mother on Family Matters was an elevator operator (or something like that) for the place where Larry and Balki worked at. For some reason, she got fired or laid off, then she shifted over to Family Matters.

Actually, no. The last show I watched on a regular basis was X-Files during seasons 1 and 2. I don't really watch TV.
