And while we're at it...I'm intimately familiar with just how f'ed up it is.

Working in my first professional job I was leaning on a desk, resting my hands on the corners.

A woman walks by and brushes her ass against my stationary hand on the desk.

I get a talking to from HR for grabbing her ass (her version).

You gotta be careful guys, there are women who do this for a living. Hence why I think dude did exactly what he should have done.

If a women came over to my desk to give me some papers or anything and bent over pefectly so I could see down her blouse I'd be a little suspicious of that. I mean, if it was a quick thing maybe not, but, maybe she extended the view or something? Wouldn't complain, wouldn't avert the situation, but, I would possibly be suspicious of her intent. After all this is ATOT here... my god she looked at me too... does she like me? Heh.

Anyway, silly stuff, She should also have gotten a letter from the health and safety group for not bending at the knees. ;)

That's exactly right. If women can decide what's unwanted advance by men, why can't men decide what's too revealing by women. You can't have it both ways. If a woman is showing cleavage like that, sometimes you can't help but look, and everytime you are risking that she'll report you for looking down her shirt. So why not NIP it in the bud before it escalates. I am sure this guy wouldn't mind an office where all women showed off, and he could stare without worrying about SH accusations, but that's not the world we live in.

Good choice of words. :)

So wait, if a girl bendsover in front of my desk and I accidently catch a glimpse of her bra, I can get fired? That isn't how _I_ remember ethics training at my work place! And I highly doubt that would happen unless there was something else that went along with the scenario.

yes you can. All she has to do is go complain to HR that you were looking down her shirt. BAM sexual harrasment case and you can get fired and sued.

with corparations getting sued for millions they don't mess around anymore. they would rather get rid of you then get sued.

You guys need to fix your laws, they're severely broken.

You're not a kidding

Same thing happened to my girl friend when she was working at MVA last summer. Her skirt was just 3-4 inches above the knee.

I'm wearing your standard to-the-neck t-shirt right now, and if I bent over properly, you could see down it. Have her put on the clothes she was wearing and go talk to HR to have them document that they were not inappropriate.

doesn't matter.

she's already been warned. can't be taken back.

don't screw with HR. The laws (and course of action to take) are pretty clear cut - dude thought it was inappropriate therefore it is in appropriate. She's been warned, so let's hope she heeds it.

Doesn't matter if it can't be taken back, it might be prudent to have an explanation or a demonstration on file.

I'm not too familiar with your laws, but is anything anyone considers inappropriate really inappropriate?
If some guys comes into my office wearing jeans, and I think he looks too "relaxed", can I just complain about that, and therefore for all intents and purposes ban jeans from the workplace?

Its very touchy now. Any and all complaints must be taken seriously.

Even the stupid ones.

But its not really the laws as it is HR departments scared out of their mind of getting sued.

yup hit the ass with a taste of his own medicine
or he could let her know that it upsets him what a djkck

Amazing how many people don't know how the corporate world works.

IF she were to go in and claim SH against the guy it would backfire on her big time. First it would look like she is just retaliating against him and trying to set up a lawsuit.

The best thing she could do is be careful on what she wears and how she bends over.

I think the faint hope that said pics will surface is all that keeps this thread alive...

My sister works at an office job. She wears business-like attire for women. Well today she got a memo and complaint filed against her that her shirt was too revealing. It wasn't a plunging v-neck or anything. It just looks like a wider neck shirt but by no means you see any skin when she is standing upright. My sister had to bend over and put something on guy's desk and he filed a complaint that he could see her bra when he looked into it. Well DUH. Unless a woman is wearing a burqa or a turtleneck (sp?) of course you can see her bra if she bends over.

WTF? Who (especially a guy) would complain about that anyways... god people have nothing else better to do. Now she is all upset about it.

The guy's probably sitting at home jacking off to the idea of your sister getting wild with him, while he feel righteous saving the other emplyees from haveing these thoughts after such a dreadfull experience.
