Hah, you can't write a contract to get yourself out of child support payments. You simply don't have the power to do that in any state. And as I said in my last post, you cannot use the hold harmless clause either.

I still think it's a little strange to have the child in the family like others are pointing out. I would really think about that before I went in to it.

Can't go to a judge and get something like that sorted out?

Imagine you and I sign a contract which says that you will give me everything your parents own in exchange for fixing your car. Can you legally take away your parents' rights to what is theirs, even though we signed a contract? No.

That's the same thing. The child has the right to child support payments, and other people can't decide to waive that right.
