SiriusXM may just have the WORST billing i've ever seen - I'm done

For years now, their system has been wonky with our billing, sometimes double billing, billing us months early, not sending invoices/notifications, etc. Ive been a customer for ~ 8 years and its always been pretty crappy. They have always fixed the issue after the fact, but having to constantly check to see if they are billing me correctly is a total pain in the ass.

Anyway - Starting about a month ago, i started getting emails and letters in the mail that I needed to update my account information with a new credit card, it said I had a past due balance of $1.26; however, it didn't say what this mysterious random tiny charge was for. When I try and log into the website, it acts as if my account doesn't exist. When I call on the phone, the automated system can see I have the $1.26 balance, but says there is an error when it tries to let me update my CC and sends me to Customer Care. When I speak to a rep, they say they can't pull up my account and need to open a troubleshooting ticket, each time saying I will receive a call back in 5 business days. I call each week after I don't receive a call and I'm told they need to open a new ticket each time, extending another 5 days (I've called 4 times now over the period of a month)

I get e-mails from them about the past due charge every other day, and the letters in the mail 2-3 times this month so far. They better not send me to collections for a freaking $1.26 charge that they won't let me pay.

SiriusXM, you can kiss my ass, i'm done. Stern is on vacation 80% of the year now and there's nothing you offer that I can't get streaming to my iPhone via Spotify/Pandora/Instacast/etc. Not to mention they just annouced a price hike. Good riddance.

This is why i've never renewed my subs on my lease vehicles. I usually get a new "trial" for a year when I get a new lease car, then they pester me to renew but I always decline. Stern is the only decent channel but lately he's on vacation so much I end up listening to regular radio anyway.

I would just like to point out that its now 5 months later and SiriusXM STILL CANNOT SEE MY ACCOUNT.

Why the hell would you pay for such shit-quality radio in the first place?

/audiophile snob douche

I tried XM back when it first came out. Was neat but not worth the money.
MP3 players were small back then, but multi disc in dash CD players were common. Then car systems that could play MP3 discs became popular.
Now its all about SD cards. And frankly with a 64 gig capacity you could have pretty much ALL music from a single genre in your car. Buying music from Amazon might seem more expensive at first, but keep in mind you only pay once and can listen to that song forever, no additional expense. With paid radio you are pissing away money whether you use it all day, or just a couple minutes. Eventually its more expensive.

Not to mention with Sirius/XM there are still damn commercials!! I thought if I paid for it, there wouldn't be any... That was their big push in the beginning, commercial free "radio" but even that is a bust.

I just can't see spending that much for a handful of stations I might actually enjoy. They play the same music as regular free radio and I skip through channels just as much to find something decent to listen to anyway. Why pay when I can do the same skipping around on free radio?

SiriusXM came with my car. Got the free 3 months or whatever and then extended the subscription a few times with the $20/5 months deal. When they stopped offering that, I cancelled my subscription. A few months later they offered me the $25/5 months deal so I took it. I'm on this deal right now and will switch to the $25/6 months deal they currently have (if they let me, if not I'll just cancel again).

In the end it's nice to have, but I definitely won't pay the crazy retail price or even the 50% off they seem to offer everyone as a 'great deal'. $5/month is my limit. If they won't give me that promo rate, then I'll just cancel.

They used to have a problem finding my account too. I figured out that the combination of 'account ID' and 'radio ID' is the best way for them to get to my account (name/e-mail address/etc will just confuse their system for some reason).

yes their billing and customer service is horrendous. one time i signed up for a promo, they ended up charging me for a full year at full price instead. when i called back to have it fixed, all they could say was that i hadnt signed up for a promo and in fact signed up for a full year... kept calling and finally got someone to switch. wasted hours of my life for that BS. as if thats not bad enough, they would not refund the extra money either, instead they kept it as an account credit. so yeah, they suck ass.

LOL, those jackasses called me a few weeks ago telling me they had re-activated my account for 3 free months with autorenewal.

I called them up and told them I didn't own my car anymore and I can't believe they had the nerve to do that. They said I agreed by clicking a link in an email that autoactivated my account.

FUCK THEM. They keep sending me these fucking emails even after I unsubscribed too.

yep, everything is set up to autorenew at full obscene price. they bait people with attractive promos then screw them when the renew hits. cancelling the autorenew takes an annoying phone call.

Got a free six-month subscription with my new vehicle. We use it for long trips out of state but it's not worth paying for when my trial subscription ends.

I honestly enjoy them for some of their music stations. A lot of the ones around here play the same crap at the same time so, litereally, the only variety you get is what point in the song the radio station is currently in

That said I would not pay their normal fee

It has to be bad. Thats the only reason I can think my 3 month free promo has lasted 4 years
