I dropped them. It just got to be to expensive. By the time they add fees and taxes it's pushing $20 a month. For that much streaming pandora, slacker, and last.fm for free is good enough.

Sadly, the free version of Pandora sucks now over a cellular connection. Songs take forever to load now (even with low quality mode), and then often stop playing half way through. I wouldn't be surprised if the issue was caused by all of the video ads that they're downloading in between songs now, since it used to work just fine during my commute.

Eh they are always offering 5 or 6 month deals if you call up to cancel.

The last time I used XM was in 2006 at the top of a mountain. Last time I needed it too. With the advent of large capacity flash memory I fail to see the need for paid music subscriptions these days. Amazon has dirt cheap DRM-free music by the truckoad.

about 50-75% of the time i am listening to XM it isn't music content, there is a lot of talk radio, news and sports available

but most people don't have 2 hours daily commute to kill

OK, you got me there.
If you need sports and shit to help with long daily trips then I guess it could be worth it after a while.
