Sirius users: What channels do you mainly listen to?

I got a JVC unit for Christmas, and I've been loving it. Mainly tuning into Octane (20), Alt Nation (21), Faction, and some of the news/sports channels.

It definately beats the hell out of local FM radio, but I hope they make the playlists deeper. Just head over to SiriusBackstage and see everyone complaining about the short playlists. Yeah, I know that XM has extremely deep playlists, but I love the music on Sirius. I just don't care about hearing Alive by Pearl Jam 3 times in one day. 🙂

Unless you listen to only one station all day, I don't think repeats are an issue.

I didn't know sirius playlists were that short. I never listen to it for more than 2 hours and when I do I'm flipping through like 15 presets so I never noticed repeat in the playlists. But I'll take short playlists over xm anyday. I've got xm in my car and I find their theme stations are too broad, I like how sirius's theme channels are more specific...like xm has a 80's station while sirius has 80's rock, 80's new wave, 80's hair bands..etc.

The repetion used to be worse on some of the other channels I listen to, like Octane and Alt Nation, where you'd sometimes hear a song repeated within 2-3 hours. It's improved vastly within the last month though. Hearing the Jayhawks play on satellite radio is pretty cool, too.

I can't really tell that much difference, but I've only been using it since Christmas. I like Nirvana, but this unit is going out the window if I hear another one of their songs. 🙂
