I just called to cancel, after getting charged for the next 3 months (was expecting month-to-month..guess not), and I ended up with that charge refunded and 3 months free service instead. 😕

One of the call centers I used to work for handled Sirius. Let's just say the people manning the phones would be considered "gifted" if they knew how to wipe their own asses. Par for the course.

I was thinking about upgrading my sirius radio and renewing my subscription in the near future...

Are they finally out of danger of closing forever?

I haven't paid for Sirius in a long time. I keep calling to cancel and they keep giving me free extensions.

When I had XM and called to cancel they threw this at me, I still canceled anyway though.

Didn't seem worth the $$ to me over all.

I have a lot of luck with calling in asking for a lower rate. Right now I'm under $5/month with online access. Besides online, there is basically 0 overhead with additional customers even at a discount rate.

Most subscription media companies do this. I have had to deal with "retention departments" at Comcast, DTV, Dish, etc.
