Thats a pretty good facial for the pinheads at the fcc. 😀

Oh, I'm lovin' it!

Yeah, he has definitely checkmated them. A lot of people have predicted the demise of his career over the years, but he's the one making nine figures a year . . .

O&A>Stern

They recently started playing O&A on FreeFM here. I never heard them before. I don't get it. I listen to them for a few hours now over the past month, and they have to be the worst radio talk show I have ever heard. A few days ago they were literally saying "blah, blah, blah" for almost a solid minute when describing their agent telling them what they should do. Ok, I got it the first 5 times you said "blah, blah, blah"...

I hope their XM show is better, cause I can't imagine anyone paying for the crap they air over syndication.

I listened to Stern when he was free, he is decent, but don't really care enough to pay for him.

If it is so easy to create a 4 hour entertaining show then why haven't others cashed in? No one has come close to creating the buzz and audience that stern has.

So you can say it is easy but getting on a radio and talking 4 hours every morning is NOT easy to do and stay entertaining at the same time.

You're joking, right?

Rush Limaugh

Opie and Anthony

Bob and Tom

Michael Savage

Ron and Fez

Bubba the Love Sponge (Who Howard brought to Sirius)

Morton Downey, Jr. (who was way before Stern)

and so on..

There are tons of popular syndicated comedy multi hour format radio shows. Just because they aren't as huge as Stern, doesn't mean they don't exist.

It's like saying Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports and so on aren't real because ESPN dominates the market.

Do all the women who go on the show really love Howard or just his image/empire ?

Women are often (almost always?) sexually attracted to wealth and power. They want the alpha-male. So... Both.

sorry he's talentless. Shock jock and nothing more.
Brilliant no question, but talentless.

That is a highly subjective issue, but I couldn't disagree more, and it appears the public disagrees with you as well, in that he is the most successful broadcaster in the history of radio. As far as I'm concerned, his improvisational wit is extraordinary and really unparalleled. I think he's one of the most talented humorists in the world.

Since when has how popular something or someone is an indicator of how good it or he is?

You're right I should have prefaced my comments with "IMO...."

It doesn't take much to entertain on the lowest common denominator. Potty jokes are always funny. But it doesn't take a huge amount of talent to do so. He deserves the $$ that he's getting (well in reality does anyone deserve THAT much money?). He's a brilliant salesman, and the best shock-jock to ever live. He's paid his dues, and stuck with it.

Actually he has always had one of the best-educated, wealthiest listener demographics of any syndicated broadcaster. A ton of execs, doctors, and lawyers (myself included) are diehard fans.

When it stays around long enough to get past the fad phase.
