SIRIUS FOR $49

Go to sirius.com and select buy direct. Use Promo number 173. You have the option of getting the home or car station for $49. There's a $10 activation. You need to prepay for 6 months.

Than after 15 months you can hear Howard Stern!

You need to do some work on your post. Firstly, it's $49 for the radio receiver. If you have to prepay for 6 months then that's another $13 x 6 = $72. So in reality it's $141. Hot deal? I think not.

Sirius...

Based on their cash flow, they are going to go bankrupt in Nov 2006 (factored in payment to Howard).
They are trying to raise another $200m this month so that would probably give them another 6-9 months.
Thus they'll go bankrupt in mid 2007.
Howard really has to pull in lots of his listeners to keep it going and paying off future debt.

I think Howie will be able to pull in 1 mil new subscribers fairly easily. I think between NFL and Howie people will see a good value...

To clarify this deal -- It's a PNP tuner and 1 kit for $49. You do have to buy 6-months of programming, but this code does save you $100 on equipment. Activation is free on this deal.

Here's how to get it:
Go to SiriusDirect.

Enter 173 as the promo code. Select one of the $49 PNP units.

On the next page, you have to enter a referral id...I think any Sirius employee's email will work.

You have to spend money to make money, I think that their current investments including howard stern will pay off (even thought I think 500m is way to much to make dick and fart jokes on the radio) I also think their NFL deal will draw more people in.
As for the hot deal I think that 141 for 6m of comercial free radio is a hot deal. I hate local radio especialy the DJs.

Based on Stern's fan base, about 12 million, SIRI is a $20 stock come December 2005. Figure about 3 to 4 million listeners making the transition over to Sirius the first year Stern signs on. And about half a million listerners a year signing on for the next four years.

They've already gone bankrupt a few times, whats one more? Anyone who pays $12.99 per month to listen to that unfunny, uninformative waste of airspace is more retarded then the people that listen because of the millions of top40 crapass stations can only seem to find about 3 new songs per year and thats a little annoying at 7 in the morning. isn't his 'radio' show also available for free (free to cable customers anyway, which is most of you people) on USA or something? skrew them all.

I listen to sirius for a few reasons...

1) it's way better then FM/AM BS.
2) I don't like left/right winged religious cry babies telling me what I should or should not be listening too.
3) I think Bush is pushing the FCC to crack down on Howard Stern devil worshipers.... Stern can use the F word as much as he likes and there isn't a god damn thing the FCC can do about it.

I don't like Big Brother making my choices for me. I doubt they will be going bankrupt anytime soon.

LOL!

Sat radio is a new medium..it will take time to build a fan base..I have had Sirius for nealrly one yr now..I hardly ever listen to "free" radio

As long as the price stays reasonable..$10-13/mo range I think they will do fine...what they paid Stern was stupid IMHO

The SQ on sat radio is much better today tha nwhen I first got..and is much better than FM

There is more than enough potential customers for both XM/Sirius...

The ramp up cost are huge for this venture just like cable was in its day....I think in 5 yrs this will be interesting to look back on

Sirius is going nowhere. It may change hands, but it is going nowhere. Competition is good. I am switching from XM to Sirius ASAP. Was hoping that Stern would go XM. Since he announced, I have discovered several things that make Sirius more valuable than XM. Later XM.

Stern is a unfunny, washed up hack... i find it pretty ironic that he announced he's switching to satellite on the 2nd day of O&A's return to XM ( who are more gooder on XM then they were on FM)

even stern can't save that sinking ship
