I currently pay for Sirius in my car, but my wife's has XM built in. Now that they are the same company I am hoping that I can activate her account at the discounted rate for second radios. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have looked all over the Sirius and XM websites, but they don't really answer my question.

We have XM, do we have Sirius now too?

They merged, but I think you have to add Sirius options *COUGH*NFL*COUGH* 'a-la-carte' and they range anywhere from three to 10 bucks extra per month. (EDIT: on their site they list an XM Everything with Sirius option and it's 17.99 a month, so like five bucks more)

My brother was talking about getting me on his plan and he claimed a second plan is an additional 7 or so dollars, but I'm not finding much either.

Edit: preliminary searching has yielded a few news articles about the 'XM/Sirius Family Plan' that says adding an additional active receiver costs 6.99/mo, but I don't know if that's something you have to call and ask about.

"Add an XM receiver to the XM Family Plan by calling Listener Care at
1-800-XM-RADIO (1-800-967-2346)."

EDIT:edit:edit: Didn't really answer the OP's question - since we all know how mergers go... What I'm thinking is for now you'll be able to do it but I think you'll have to be on the same platform, IE both on the XM network so one can hook up to the other's account with the family plan discount. So chances are if you want to do this you'll need another XM receiver.

I think you are right. I am going to call them in a little while though. I am not buying a new receiver; she can just go without it for now if they won't let me add the second, cheaper line.
