Sipix Digital camera 35.95

640x480 resolution (0.3MP), 8 meg ram.

any reviews on this?

And this camera for $42 shipped, or Olympus d370 (1.3mp) for $115 shipped (including 16meg smartmedia card from newegg)? i'll probably be using both in 640x480 mode because of picture size (300k vs 800k for 1024x768). and i just want a camera that can read the words off a whiteboard.

so this SiPix or the Olympus for 3x more?

<< so, what are you smokin' joker? >>

What else do you roll up with Jokers? Plus, From what I hear, Jokersmoker is canadian - all Canadians smoke bud - didn't you know 😉 😉

Anyway, I may pick one of these up just to kick around. Thanks alot JS - You rock balls!

The ony review I was able to pull up was from CNN -

<< For starters, I found the slim and simple SiPix StyleCam digital camera for only $70. This no-frills, point-and-shoot model is about the size of a box of Altoids. It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries, stores about 60 shots in its 8MB of internal memory, and connects to a PC via USB cable to transfer photos. As you might expect, the StyleCam lacks features typically found on more expensive cameras, such as a built-in flash, an LCD, a zoom lens, and a slot for a memory card.

Still, I was satisfied with my SiPix snapshots; they looked nice enough to e-mail to friends and post on a Web site. And if you take pictures in a sunny setting, the camera should produce images that are bright enough for satisfactory prints on 3-by-5-inch paper. But with a maximum resolution of 640 by 480 pixels (compared with 1200 by 1600 for models in the $350 or above price range), the SiPix won't produce Ansel Adams-quality photos.

That cheapo Sipix has the CMOS sensor, not the better CCD. You will not be happy with this at all, especially on indoor shots. Think of this as equivilent to the JamCam.

This camera won't replace your Nikon, but if you've ever held one it's tiny. It's carry in your pocket all the time tiny.

ok i bought it and it came in.

although it's suppose to be 640x480 (0.3 megapixels), the size of the pics are only ~100k when i download it my computer.

anyone have a site where i can compare 640x480 pics of other cameras?

so far, for $35+s/h, it's not bad. very small (3"wide x 2" high x 1" deep), usb, decent enuf pics for websites. but reading words off a pic is kinda tough. 🙁
