sinxp1394 - Have to reset to be able to boot on raid

I just installed winxp on my new sinxp1394 mobo.
I am using 2 x wd120gb hdd's in a raid0 setup.

When I "cold start" my system it will do the "scanning ide drives..." then I get the, "firmware not ready" message.
If I push the reset button after that it will boot without a problem.

I have never tried running my drives in raid before, so I guess I am doing something wrong.

Does anyone know what to do or what I can check?

MrMeyhem, sorry I can't help you with your problem. :(

However, I just received the same board and am getting "DPVRM Failure" messages on boot-up. Is your DPVRM working okay?

Thanks!

Everyone is getting tha "DPVRM Failure" on this board. What we are trying to find out is, is it really working and just giving a false message because the fan and led work so it might be working. The trouble is, how do you find out.

MrMeyhem, I also have 2 WD SE 120s' running in raid 0. Mine work perfectly. Make sure you installed the drivers during XP instalation and then installed the Gigabyte ITE drivers after you get into Windows.

Hello I have the same board up and running now for about a week haven't had the issue with "DPVRM Failure" . Mine seems to be working fine If you take out the card the bios screen will change. If dual power is working boot up screen will say "system power is provided by Parallel mode" Also read at a other forum that people are having the same problem with the 8SINXP board and Gigabyte released a new bios to correct the issue with the dual power error.

THe only problem I have been encountering is memory. Im using two sticks of Mushkin 256 PC3200 Black edtion and this board does not like this memory for some reason. Installing windows XP I had to set the memory at 266MHZ just to install windows !!!!!!!!

Hope I was of some help

Thanks for all the answers...

I do not get the "DPVRM Failure" message....not even sure what it is ...

I did install the raid drivers during xp installation, but can I somehow make sure that they are correctly installed?
I have also installed the ite drivers in windows.
I have flashed the bios earlier on, but will do it again tonight..if I can download the bios from www.gigabyte.com.tw, seems like their drivers/bios download is down for the moment.

Not sure if this might cause any problems during startup but....I know that my psu is kinda weak, 300W, and it sometimes run very low on the 12V line.....besides the "have to reset to boot on raid" problem, this is the only "issue" my computer is having. Everything else seem stable.

More detailed specs:
P4-2,53GHz
Gigabyte SinXp1394
2x512Mb DDR400 memory modules (apacer)
HIS Excalibur Radeon 9700 Pro
2x120GB WD1200jb se
OS - Win XP sp1a

I have not o/c anything yet, want to get everything working before I do.
