SINXP-1394 Loud Fan

I have a Gigabyte SINXP-1394 motherboard with a loud fan. I am looking to get a more quiet "aftermarket" fan for it. Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about motherboards, but this fan apparently is atop the SiS 655 chip and is the one making all the racket.

Is this fan replaceable with a quieter one or am I stuck?

You can purchase a Thermaltake Extreme Cooler thingy and set it to low or just use it passively. It works.

You're referring to the hsf on the northbridge chip, right?

Given that the competing Asus board has passive cooling on the same chip, you probably don't need a fan at all, but rather one of these, if the mounting is compatible-
