sinuses and humidity?

Dry Air really is killing me. My car shoots dry air when the fans are on, when I am in my house I get dry and dusty air in my room... At work the dry air causes me to sneeze like a mofo

These together really ruin my sinuses causing me to have dry nose, sore throat, sinus headaches..

I am also allergic to dust. I think my dry skin is causing the dust due to lack of humidity also

Would I benefit from a air cleaner + dehumidifier? What other things should I look at doing to improve this condition.. it is finally getting on my nerves

our family uses a hepa air filter in every room and I noticed a significant improvement in air quality after the first couple days. Kinda expensive to purchase and replace the filters, but worth it in my opinion. As for the humidity, you may consider a humidifier for your room you sleep in..might help with the dryness you experience.

I think the humidity affects the entire house, is there such thing as a central humidifier?

And where do you place your filters you are referring to? Do you mean filter the air coming from the furnace in each room?

Humidifiers are really common and inexpensive now. My friend complained of the same things and we got her a $50 humidifier for her bedroom and a small portable $30 one for her office. her sinus problems went away. Just make sure not to over humidify(?). Too much humidity can cause problems too in the environment, like mold growth. Yes there are central hepa filtration systems and add ons, and yes there are also central humidifiers but again, humidity is often bad for the house so talk to your local HVAC tech.

we use little stand alone hepa filter units..like fans with filters on them (rudimentarily I mean).

the humidifier sounds like a good idea if you dont overdo it. If you live in a house, try replacing the filters in the hvac system with higher quality ones as well.

also, consult your local HVAC tech as dakels suggested

Start taking a multivitamin. All but eliminated my sinus problems. That said, it's not a magic bullet. Check out HEPA filters as others have suggested. If whatever you look at has an ionizer, make sure it's been tested for ozone production. That was one of the main problems with the famed "Ionic Breeze" (that and the fact that it didn't move enough air to catch shit)

Nerdy question, it is very dry where I live and my room gets dusty/dirty fast and my PC fills up with dust regularly (have to blow it out once a month if I want to control temps properly).

Would putting a humidifier in the room reduce this?

Yes, a little Gramboh but if you are just doing it for your computer, I wouldn't. Computers generally like dryer air then humid air from what I know (I dont think it matters a whole lot as long as it is non condensing). You'd benefit from filters on your intake case fans.
