Single's party?

Got a bit of a dilemma...

My girlfriend just called into a local radio show and won tickets to "Kevin and Bean's Halloween single's party". She thinks it would be fun to go because its a costume party. I think she's being naive and doesn't realize that there are going to be tons of guys and chicks who are there for one reason. What do you guys think? Is it a smart idea to goto a single's party?
 
Parties are bad date situations.

I recently went to a party with my gf. She basically dressed me cause it was a costume party and I hate to dress up. So I'm dressed in a wifebeater, flannel shirt and shorts and hiking boots, etc... I walk into this party (mostly servers as it's friends of hers from a restaurant throwing the party) and realize that I'm one of the few straight guys there. She introduces me to the guy throwing the party and he comments to her, "Your boyfriend is hot...I'd like to get a piece of that."

It doesn't bother me because I took it as a compliment, the guy was a shrimp that didn't intimidate me, and you can't help who you attract. She, on the other hand, got creeped out and wouldn't leave my side for 1 minute. It sucks when your SO doesn't let go of your arm the whole night. Needless to say, we ended up getting in a fight that night because she was uptight and things were bound to break down that way. So I go back to the initial statement with one exception....they're bad situations unless you and your date are attractive and everyone else is ugly.

Depends. If she plans to bring a chick back to her pad for some frisky action, and you get to hide in the closet with a video camera, I say go to it, and good luck!

I wouldn't go if I were you. I don't think many good things could come from it. Seriously. You're putting yourself in a situation where you are asking for trouble. Whether it comes from a chick hitting on you, or some dude hitting on your chick. I would find another costume party to go to, it's that time of year man, those parties are everywhere. Give the tickets to people who are single.
