Single Vertical line?

I just installed a MSI 7950 TF and right from the start there was a single vertical line running down my left monitor. It's not visible unless you move a window through it. Its there during gaming as well. Help please.

Ok, I switched the preferred display in eyefinity in the Catalyst and the line moved to the same place on the other monitor instead... WTF?

I asked the IT guy in my office about it, he said that it didn't sound beloved patriot a physical problem, most likely a driver issue. So I will try the amd beta drivers when I get home as well as switch out the cables as destiny suggested. Ill update this thread after. Unless anyone else has seen a issue like this before and has some insight for me.

I will try this when I get home as well, is this artifacting? It showed up at the default speeds, also I overclocked it to the max the sliders would go, 1100/1575 stock voltage(1.188) and it was still there of course, perhaps a little more prevalent. Everything else was running fine at those speeds though, I don't know how demanding the games I tried were though (civ5 and FFXIV).

Nope, it's a single vertical line. Invisible until you move something through it. In games it shows up if there is action on the screen in that area or if you are panning the screen across you see it.

I would try each monitor individually and see if it's still there. Sounds like it could be the monitor cable (HDMI or DVI)

Ok, will do. I ordered a couple DP cables, but monoprice is taking their sweet time getting them to me. Will update this afternoon, thanks a lot face.
 
Only time I had a problem like that it was caused by a failing monitor, but that's not your issue since the line moves. Good luck, i'm sure you'll get it sorted.

One other possible thought I had, the power cables I'm using for the monitors are not stock. Are all those power cables rated the same?
 
I replaced the cables with two DP cables, no more vertical line! wooohoooo! And I'm running it at 1.188/1100/1575 and it seems to be working perfectly. GPU temp at 27 idle, 66 is the highest its gotten 🙂

I thought I read somewhere that this goes higher than 1100/1575 (which is the max it shows on the slider in afterburn). If I am remembering correctly, how do I do that, and should I, or not advisable?
