Single space or double space?

I just got done writing an acceptance letter to a large university. Is there any rule per say to single or double space this type of a letter?

i'd go with single. double allows for corrections to be put in

edit: as in that's why you only do double on essays and what not

if you want them to make corrections and send it back to you, double space it
