17 fans? Is that before counting CPU HSF and 4x graphics card fans?
LOL. Now you have another good reason to go with a water loop.

lol.. I just have the GTX-295 now and I'm not counting that as a "fan". Look at my previous post!

I have the Noctua NH-D14 cooler which is simply superb!

Why no learn how to do water cooling now OP? Now is as good a time as any, and you have a system there that's pretty much designed for it.

Can you point me towards some excellent water-cooling guides/tutorials? As I mentioned, I'm not sure where to begin and I want my stuff to be watertight, pun-intended! 🙂

Also, I suck at wire management so I wish someone could help me with that. Some of the pics of the water-cooled setups and even air-cooled setups on XtremeSystems, especially in the Corsair 800D thread are just amazing. I guess a lot of time and nimble hands are needed.

17 fans? Lanboy case?

Lanboy? Try MountainMods! 🙂

Water-cooling isn't hard at all ( I thought it was). All you need is a GPU/CPU block, a pump, a reservoir, piping, distilled water and/or solution, and a radiator. I think that's all you need to get started on a novice level, later on you can expand when you are more comfortable. The only reason I don't personally have a WC system is because I can't afford it but one of these days I will buy it.

I don't understand this. If you have the money for 4 580's and the rest of your system you must be smart enough to not 'suck' at cable management, its not rocket science. Spend a few hours reading up on water cooling and you should be ready to give it a shot (even easier for you since you can just buy the best possible setup).

Also why don't you have a 980x?

If you are paying that much for a insane case, dual socket MB, 4 GTX580s, why not just pay someone a few hundred $ to do cable management/water setup for you?

Yaaa. I'm not sure what the f&%* to make of this. Really, if you honestly feel the need to go with 4 GTX580, do it right. You obviously have the money and that case is begging for water cooling! If you really don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, find some one in the biz and is reputable to do it for you.

edit: Actually I think you would be better served with 3 of the 3GB GTX580s than 4 of the regular ones. At the high resolutions that 3GB will help more than 4 GPUs.

What game at what resolution would someone need dual i7's and quad gtx580's?

I imagine that with the 1.5GB of RAM on each GTX 580, you'd run out a RAM before you hit the gpu ceiling. Of course, there are those 3GB GTX 580s coming out...
