Single Sata HD

I'm a newbie so please take this seriously. I have not been able to find anyone who knows the answer, but I want to build a system (this is my first btw), and I want to put a single sata HDD in it. Can someone pleasse tell me if there will be any problems installing it or installing Windows other than needing different cables over ada HDD. For example, am I going to have to load any drivers for my mobo from disk. Any differences need to be mentioned.
My system will be :

AMD 3500+
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
1 GB KVR
Gainward 6800 GT
Thermaltake Xaser V Case
Antec True 480 p.s.
Seagate 160 GB Sata HDD
...
The rest is immaterial I think for this question, and some of this might be too, but I have all the parts except for the proccessor so they cannot change anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
You will need the drivers for your sata controller when you install Windows. Asuming your doing a fresh install and booting from the CD, as setup starts a msg will apear at the bottom asking you to presh F6 to specify 3rd party scsi controllers. A little bit later you will be asked for the floppy disk that has your sata controller drivers on it.

This applies to Windows 2000 and XP, Im not sure about 98.
 
Thanks. I think those came ona disk with my mobo. I had read somewhere that you have to make the disk on your own, but I hope MSI did it for me as I am new to building and I don;t want to ruin anything.
 
the neo2 platinum should have come with a drivers disk that has the SATA drivers for you to use during setup. if you misplaced the disk, you can go here and download the drivers (its the last link - nvidia nforce3 drivers), and put them on a disk.
 
As long as you have a floppy drive, you should be good to go. I remember I had a system (XPC, specifically) with no floppy drive bay, and stupidly, I got a SATA HDD, and couldn't install it. I didn't want a floppy drive hanging out of the system everytime I reinstalled Windows (which is very often), so I got a normal HDD instead 🙂.

you know, you could've just slipstreamed the drivers onto a new xp disk.
